Professional staff deserves professional benefits, and CCSA's Charter Employee Services (CES) provides benefits packages designed specifically to provide charter school employees with the peace of mind that high quality coverage is there when they need it.

Annual benefits include:

  • Professional Liability Insurance: Both CES benefits packages provide membership in the Association of American Educators (AAE) which includes liability coverage that guards personal assets by providing coverage for traditional claims or suits filed against teachers and school staff and pays up to $2 million for damages arising from professional liability and employment liability lawsuits.

  • Legal Consultation: Included in the $2 million professional liability insurance policy, members have access to legal counsel at the onset of workplace issues. Consultation is available 7 days a week to ensure your rights are protected.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): EAP is a service designed to help employers and their employees manage life's challenges. The program offers employee retention resources and referrals to employers while offering services in the following areas to employees: clinical counseling services, financial services, legal services, childcare and eldercare assistance, ID theft recovery services and daily living services.

  • Teacher Scholarships & Classroom Grants: In cooperation with CCSA, the AAE Foundation provides thousands of dollars annually in teacher scholarships and classroom grants, specifically designed to help advance continuing education and student achievement. All educators are eligible to apply to the National Scholarships and Grants Program, however members receive additional weight in the scoring rubric. Additionally, CCSA and AAE are offering $10,000 in scholarships specifically for CES educators to attend the Annual California Charter Schools Conference.

Charter Employee Services benefit packages can be purchased by school leaders to be included as part of their employee benefits package, or by individual charter school employees.

  • On a field trip, a student disobeys instructions, leaves the group, falls and is injured. His parents sue the educator who led the trip, alleging improper supervision.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) enrollment, which includes clinical counseling, financial and legal services and resources to promote work/life balance.
