December 11, 2013 NBC 7 (San Diego) recently named math teacher Andrew Shields the "Inspirational Teacher of the Month" for December. Shields teaches at Classical Academy High School (CAHS) in Escondido where he also serves as chair of the math department. Shields, who has taught math at the school for the past eight years, likes to engage his students with innovative and creative ways to think about and solve math problems.

Serving as a mentor to faculty and students alike, Shields says there is no better job than teaching and helping students along their education journey. Watch NBC 7's recognition of this amazing teacher.
