The annual California Charter Schools Conference is the premier networking and professional development event for leaders, teachers, and supporters of the state's charter schools. Presenters at the conference share their experience and knowledge with 2,500 attendees from charter schools across California. CCSA rebuilds the conference program each year through a "Call for Presentations" for breakout sessions.

This year, we received more than 500 proposals in response to our Call for Presentations, a new record for the conference. Every year, the call becomes more and more competitive, resulting in even higher quality presentations from subject matter experts and charter schools throughout that state and the country.

There was an especially strong response in our new sub strands, with many people applying to present sessions about online learning, performance management, effective instructional strategies and accountability.

Over the course of the next month, 22 breakout session selection committees made up of charter school leaders, teachers and Association staff members will be reviewing the proposals and making final selections for the conference program. The committees will select presentations that reflect successful and practical strategies that ensure quality public education for all students and promote strong operational integrity.

The 18th Annual California Charter Schools Conference will be held March 7-10, 2011, at the San Diego Convention Center. Our theme for 2011 will be "The Future of California Public Education.''
